The Entrance Is Where Everything Begins

The first real challenge comes as soon as Maya opens the door. There is no wide hallway, no proper place to pause, and no smooth transition from outside to inside. She steps directly into the apartment’s busiest little zone. It is where she takes off her shoes, places her bag, reaches the kitchen corner, and gets to the shower. In a normal apartment, those would be separate spaces. Here, they all happen within just a few steps.

Because the space is so tight, Maya has developed a routine. She opens the door, turns carefully, removes one shoe, shifts her bag, and then removes the other. If she moves too quickly, the apartment immediately reminds her that there is no spare room for careless habits. Even a pair of shoes left in the wrong place can block the entrance. Beside this tiny entry area is the kitchen corner, just big enough for simple meals, tea, instant noodles, and quick student cooking. On the other side is the green door to the shower room, one of the first details every visitor notices.
