For many people living on Skid Row, each day can be about survival, patience, and finding a little safety wherever possible. One man decided that sleeping fully exposed outside was not something he could keep doing. With only cardboard, tape, plastic sheets, and a few items he found nearby, he built a small shelter that gives him at least some privacy and protection from the street.

From the outside, it looks like a simple structure made from boxes and scraps. But inside, the space has been arranged with surprising care. It is not a normal home, and it is not an easy way to live, but it shows how creative people can become when they are forced to work with very little. What first appears to be a pile of cardboard is actually a small personal space built with effort, order, and determination.
